Dr. Navaid T Husain
MBBS, MD, DRCOG, MRCGP(UK), CCFP
Dr. Husain was born in Norwich, England. He did his undergraduate medical training in Rajasthan, India and went on to do his postgraduate family medicine training in Swansea, Wales. After working as a general practitioner in the UK for a few years he relocated to Canada in 2011. He worked initially in beautiful rural Alberta with its open skies and canola fields (Three Hills) for over four amazing years before moving to Calgary in 2015.
He is passionate about family medicine and loves the diversity that this profession brings in. He finds it extremely rewarding to build and value relationships with his patients and their families.
Dr. Husain has been training residents as a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Calgary since 2015.
He is married and has 3 sons who were born in 3 different continents, the youngest being a Calgarian.
He enjoys spending his time outside his work with his family, he loves nature and likes ambling and traveling.

Dr. Urfi Sulaiman
BSC, MB.CHB, MRCGP, CCFP, LMCC
Dr. Urfi Sulaiman was born and brought up in the North of England and qualified as a doctor from the University of Leeds in 1992. He was a partner in an inner-city Leeds practice for 16 years until he migrated to Alberta for a better work-life balance. He is married for 25 years and has 3 grown-up children.
He has an interest in men's health, mental health, and cardiovascular disease. He has a passion for high-quality health care. He also trained residents for 6 years in the UK. Since moving to Calgary, he has been able to develop an interest in preventative health to help avoid problems escalate to diseases.

She has been working in NW Calgary for the past 20 years and she is based in our Market Mall location. She has special interest in dermatology and can take care of your skin related concerns.

JULIA CLARK (BHC)
The Behavioral Health Consultant service aims to work collaboratively with your physician to address the emotional, psychological, behavioral, and social aspects of a patient’s health. It is a partnership between Alberta Health Services (AHS) and the Calgary Foothills Primary Care Network (CFPCN).The service provides 30 minute consultations available at no cost and includes goal setting and targeting interventions.
A few general areas BHCs provide support include:

Dr Mark Docksteader MD, CCFP
Dr Docksteader was born and raised in Calgary. Following completion of his family medicine residency in 2012 from the University of Calgary, he went on to practice at Sunridge Family Medicine Teaching Centre. As a clinical preceptor at Sunridge for over six years, he has mentored numerous medical students and residents. He continues to have an interest in medical education and evidence-based medicine. He spends his free time, outside medicine, with his wife and three daughters; and loves getting out to the golf course whenever he has the opportunity!

Dr. Bilaal Owadally, MBBch
Dr. Owadally graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa in 2006. Originally from Mauritius, he lived and worked in South Africa before moving to Alberta in 2011. Also fluent in French, he enjoys the opportunity to help French speaking patients whenever possible.

DR.Karina Pillay
Dr. Pillay grew up in northern, rural Alberta and prior to entering medicine, she had successful careers in business, education and municipal politics. After serving as the Mayor for the Town of Slave Lake for 9 years and helping her community recover after a wildfire disaster in 2011, she wanted to live her life without regrets and pursued her lifelong dream of medicine. She completed her medical degree from the University of Calgary (2016) and her rural, family medicine residency in Kelowna with the University of British Columbia (2018). She returned to Calgary to practice family medicine. She feels honoured to serve as a family physician and to be part of one’s health journey. With an interest in women’s health, she is certified as a Menopause Practitioner (2022). Her other special interests include mental health and aged care. Outside from work, Karina is an avid, world traveller and enjoys nature, hiking, music, movies and sharing great food with family and friends.

Dr. Raven Yip
As a graduate of the U of A medical school and U of C family medicine residency program, I am thrilled to be practicing medicine in my hometown. Sadly, despite my last name, my only words in Cantonese are "Sik Fan Lah!" which my Yeye shouted countless times when I was growing up. Regardless, I am committed to providing culturally safe, inclusive, and compassionate care to people of all backgrounds and ages. I love the variety that a day in family medicine offers, from mental health to minor procedures, preventative care to chronic illness, and everything in between. Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with family, staying active outdoors, and playing the violin with anyone who tolerates my terrible sight reading.

Dr. Emily Hanniman, MD, CCFP Family Physician
Dr. Hanniman is a family physician who completed all medical training at the University of Calgary, with clinical interests in prenatal care and reproductive health. Committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care, Dr. Hanniman emphasizes building strong, trusting relationships and supporting patients at all stages of life. A key focus of practice includes empowering individuals through education, providing comprehensive care, and advocating for safe, evidence-based approaches to sexual and reproductive health.
Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Hanniman has an extensive background in alpine skiing, including over a decade of competitive racing and five years of coaching young athletes. These experiences have cultivated a deep appreciation for teamwork and mentorship. She also enjoys hiking, biking, and reading.

Dr. Ohwofasa Gbemre
Dr Fasa Gbemre brings a wealth of experience to his role, having completed his medical training in Nigeria before advancing his career in the United Kingdom. He undertook training in family medicine and qualified as a General Practitioner, he also has a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Nottingham.
His diverse clinical background includes working across multiple GP practices and urgent care settings, equipping him with strong expertise in managing both acute and long-term conditions. He has interest in chronic disease management, mental health and men's health Dr Gbemre is passionate about family medicine, focusing on delivering holistic, patient-centred care and supporting individuals and families in maintaining long-term health and wellbeing.
Known for his approachable and reassuring manner, Dr. Gbemre is dedicated to providing high-quality care tailored to each patient’s needs. He is happily married with children and since relocating to Calgary, he has enjoyed embracing the city’s vibrant community and beautiful surroundings. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family , travelling, reading and sports.
